School Based Youth Services (SBYS)
Supportive Services for Students and Families:
Mental Health Counseling: Individual / group counseling / Crisis Intervention (Grief and Loss, Suicide Prevention, Anger Management, Anxiety, Depression, Interpersonal Conflict, Substance Abuse education / prevention); Evidence-Based social and emotional development curriculum
Healthy Youth Development: learning/academic support, life skills, relationship management, conflict resolution, social skills; employment counseling / college readiness; mentor and leadership development; school connectedness
Preventative Health – focus on risk factors that impact or compromise student health: Nutrition, substance use / abuse, pregnancy prevention, sexually transmitted diseases (Referrals for medical, dental, eye and prenatal care)
Awareness Events & Educational Activities: Suicide Prevention, Youth Violence Prevention, Teen Dating Violence Prevention, Child Abuse Prevention, Teen Pregnancy Prevention
